Cellar Master’s Recommendations

Maximilian Czeppel is the manager and cellar master at Schloss Frankenberg.

After a stormy and wet spring, our viticultural efforts and physical deprivation were rewarded with the help of late summer temperatures and the interplay of warm autumn days and cool nights with healthy, ripe grapes, and we were able to bring in an exciting wine harvest until late October.

The labor-intensive 2021 vintage presents itself as finely fruity, rich in finesse with lots of structure and a high potential for development.

2021 Schloß Frankenberg LOUISE – Cuvée White –
A fruity and stimulating white wine cuvée for every occasion. Our LOUISE impresses with yellow gooseberries, passion fruit, and elderflowers and ensures an uncomplicated meal accompaniment and plenty of drinking fun.

2021 Schloß Frankenberg Weissburgunder – Louisenberg –
Through a selective manual harvest, differentiated aging in used barriques, as well as in stainless steel, and long fine yeast storage, our Pinot Blanc presents itself in the nose with a spicy yellow fruit game, roasted nuts, and in the taste with salty creaminess.

2021 Schloß Frankenberg Riesling – Selection Florian Löw –
After the selective harvest of fully ripe Riesling grapes, overnight maceration, and subsequent spontaneous fermentation, our Selections Riesling shows itself on the nose with complex notes of flint, apricot, and orange zest and on the palate densely interwoven with juicy nuances of vineyard peach and lemon thyme.
